What is HTCups?
HTCups is a free tournament organiser based on the popular Internet football game Hattrick hattrick.org. With it you will be able to organise tournaments via friendly matches in an easy way.
How does it work?
Tournaments can be organised on a private or public basis:
Private Tournament
Under this option, a user will create a tournament; select the number of teams and the competition format (cup,league, or combination of both); enrol the participant teams; and select some options like start date or seeds. Once the tournament is created, the invited teams will receive an electronic mail notifying their acceptance. Everybody will be able to view the web site and take a look at their results, their current position and their next round opponent.
Public Tournament
In this option, a user will create a cup which will be published in the tournaments area for public registrations. Once a tournament is full, the manager will draw groups and matches and the championship will be able to start. In the users area the tournament manager has a series of tools that facilitates the administration of the cup for example, to paralyse the tournament in the event of official matches of the teams, to renew it, to change results because of rule breaches, to erase and to enrol new teams, to delay matches, etc. Everybody will be able to see their results, current position and next round opponent without logging in to the users area, although inside they will have access to additional information such as competitors e-mail or data that is considered more private. The results are downloaded automatically from hattrick.org, so the tournament manager can minimise the administrative work, simply controlling those matches that have not been played.
